A slow growing Maple, commonly called the Lion's Head Maple as the dense tufts of crinkled foliage on each branch resemble the mane of a lion. The bright green leaves turn golden orange in autumn. Plant in full sun to part shade in moist well drained soil. Deciduous.
This variety was the Maple Society of North America's Maple of the Year in 2019.
